Cooper Standard needed a full parts catalog. They wanted to implement a faceted search. They wanted clients to be able to save search results as well as download or email them as PDF files.
I recommended and installed Commerce 2. This would allow them to actually sell products from the site in the future.
I selected and installed Solr to speed up the searches. I also used JavaScript to reduce page loads during faceted searches.
It was necessary to develop several custom modules. A cart, a PDF creator and PDF mailer.
Cooper Standard maintained their Inventory in Excel files. I created many Migration plugins to allow them to import their inventory to the Commerce 2 module.
Each of Cooper Standard’s requirements were met.
The most significant challenges were a quick search facility and supporting the uploads from their parts lists.
